1. Suchimu, (SOO-CH-E-MO) its Japanese for 'Steam', her pound name.
2. Kiva, two names mixed, Kiri (KEE-REE) Japanese for ‘Fog’, her pound name and Veronica (watching heathers too many times)
3. Mushka, (she’s my dog) its Russian for ‘little fly’, named after one of the dogs who were launched into space aboard Sputnik 6.
I almost forgot;
4. Jack Frost, a cat I rescued and fostered last winter who lost the tips of his ears due to frostbite.

Let's try that one again.

1) BT (for boy Tabby)
2) Baby
3) Noogie
4) Stumpy (broken leg when he showed up on
my back porch)
5) Elvis Purrsley
6) Scarlet
7) LL (for long legs, won't let me close
enough to find out the sex.)
8) Last, but not least is our most recent
addition who showed up about 3 months ago.
We call him Bob

my kittys names are smokey, snickers, whiskers, tang, mocha, and pixie.

My moms cats are mouse, sophie, and corkie.

My husband and I just adopted 2 other babies.. we haven't completely decided on names yet. Smacky, smug or mugsy is a possibility for the gray and white long haired boy. He likes to slap us in the face..... the humans society was calling him poopy butt- don't even wanna think about that one lol. and the other cat is a 1-2 year old female tabby who got my attendtion by making the cutest chirping noises at me. She might be named chirp, chiwi, or something???

I always acquire my cars in "two's". The first set was Spunky (passed away) and Tiger. Then Max aka Monkey Boy and Missy aka Little Girl (both hit by cars). Next is Sweet Pea, aka Little One and Stinker Boy aka Little Boy, aka Bubba's (Himalayian and Turkish Angora - brother and sister). Last to join the family are Mork aka Little Guy (he's a polydactyl) and Mindy aka The Goodness Sakes.

My first love was a black & white Tuxedo.
we called him many names (Tux, Roquefort, Yoda,Winter (season we found him)& BW) We finally settled on the ULTIMATE cat name:SALEM
he was 12 when he died of FIV

my second was a stray who came to live with us and was pregnant! It was a rainy day and we named her MISTY. she had 2 sets of twins! Tee and Dee were givin away first with mom, and then JOKER (who made us laugh). we kept baby COLUMBUS who was the adventurer and loved water!!!. he too died after Salem at 10 yrs old (we think of heartbreak- 2 mo after SALEM.

Then came SMOKEY - who was---alas, the color of deep smoke. And now we have wiskers...who has the longest whiskers we've ever seen, although we should have called him "the terrorist" cause he sneak attacks poor smokey.

As a kid, we adopted a cat that we named Mitsey, but she wouldn't respond to it until we modified it to Moxie.

Last spring, we adopted a persian mix from the local humane association that we named "Springtime Annie". Though I am opposed to greyhound racing, there is a race track nearby, which prompted this long name. We shortened it to Annie.
We also have Cricket - she was a new born whom we rescued (umbilical cord still healing), and she was so teeny that as I was taking care of her one summer evening, listening to the Crickets outside, I decided to name her that. It suits her! Although the knickname squirrel might also be good for her since she is so active and leaps and bounds all over the place! lol

I name my cats from books, so starting from when I was little:

Chester (the cat in a book titled Bunniclua about a vampire bunny -- who sucked the orange out of the carrots -- and a cat named Chester that was always trying to tell his family about the evil rabbit). Also called "Cheddar", sometimes.

Claudi-monster (from a character named Claudia in Interview with a Vampire)

Alexei James (from the Alexei Karamazov character in the Brother's Karamazov/James was my favorite band at the time). Also called Alex, Alexei-boo, and rat boy.

Delilah (I guess you could say this one's from the Bible, but this was her rescue shelter name and I didn't want to change it). Also called Delilah-munchkin (she's not the munchkin breed, though) or munchy for short (ha).

I have two cats:

Nevie - pronounced with a long e; she was named after Evil Kneival (if that is how you spell his last name) because she was very active and crazy as a kitten.

Peabird - became a nickname after I named her Princess Peabody of Purrsia on her papers... she's a Persian.
