this is just me speaking, but dont ever use bleach for your aquarium. it is to risky to take a chance of even having a trace of the chemicals getting into your tank. why would you want to bleach the wood? their mite be a different way to do what you want without the chemicals. IP: Logged |

To be on the safe side, I would avoid bleacing something as porous as wood. Plus, if you bleach it, it will lose a lot of its color. I would just boil it for about an hour. That sould kill any critters in it and also help remove some of the tannis. -Chelle IP: Logged |

that is what I did and it worked great- I have not had any problems with it and it have been several months. I boiled it and then soaked it until the water was clear. I also had to anchor the driftwood down with rocks and aquarium sealant. Even though it was water logged it still wont sink without being anchored...and I had to use 2 heavy rocks. It is actually amazing the amount of bouyancy there is-- I suppose that is where it name came from! IP: Logged |

I like malasian driftwood because it sinks w/o having to be weighted down. -Chelle IP: Logged |
