My puppy, a rat terrier mix, just got over Parvo. I took him to the vet on Monday for his puppy shots (He's 3 mths old and I just got him ).. he tested positive, and so they kept him. They put him on an IV and nursed him back to health. It's now Saturday and they let him come home finally. He started playing a lot, he's not dehydrated or anything, he's been eating and keeping it down, but he's still really tired. Like he played, ate, I gave him a bath, and now he's asleep. Will he still sleep a lot until he gets enough energy or more energy or is he not completely over it or what. I'm just still really scared. They gave me some kind of medicine that I have to give him once a day spo I hope that helps! Please keep my puppy in your prayers and any info you have will be much appreciated! Thanks [This message has been edited by MypuppyEvan (edited 12-20-2003).] IP: Logged |

Hi, Your puppys body is still in recovery mode and thanks to being treated as soon as it was diagnosed he should make a full recovery. He will still be alittle weak for a couple more days then hopefully should be back to being a normal bouncy puppy.. Please keep us posted of his progress.. Mike IP: Logged |

Mypuppy - I'm sure your pup is just in recovery mode however, that sleep schedule sounds a lot like my puppy was at that age. He tended to play really excitedly and then all of a sudden would be a asleep again. I wouldn't worry too much. Keep us posted on what the vet said about him throwing up though =( IP: Logged |

I agree with everyone above. I think he is just in recovery mode. The throwing up could be his body still recovering. Please let us know what the vet says. I hope your puppy gets better soon. IP: Logged |
