Saturday morning Nala had some discharge out of her right eye. I wiped it away, but it kept coming back. However, I was busy with the cat and cardiologist that day, so I just watched her carefully. Sunday the discharge was less, but greenish. That means infection, to me. But the vet was closed and the eye looked okay otherwise, so I watched and waited. In the evening, it started to look really funny. Her third eyelid was half-closed over it (which made her look sort of demonic) and it was really red. She was winking at me. So I took her to the emergency vet. They checked for corneal ulcers but did not find anything. They gave me antiobiotic eyedrops (the same ones my mouse uses, LOL). She still looked funny when we got home, but she seems a little better this morning. Anyone else ever have this happen? They said if a corneal ulcer develops the medicine will make it worse, so I am to watch her for discharge, redness and swelling - which she already has anyway!
