Salt-Free Doggie Bars Ingredients:
Instructions: Combine dry ingredients, cut in margarine and mix as pie dough. Beat sugar with egg and stir in. Add 1/2-cup cold water to make stiff dough. Knead on floured board and roll to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into rectangles 1 inch X 2 inches. Bake at 325 degrees until lightly browned on non-greased cookie sheet. IP: Logged |

Show Dog Bait Ingredients:
Instructions: Blend first five ingredients, add whole-wheat flour until stiff, but not dry. Press into 8"X8" pan. Bake at 250 degrees F. for about 1 hour. Cool, cut into squares and store. Use as needed. IP: Logged |

Homemade Dog Biscuits Make your own dog biscuits In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of whole-wheat flour, 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, 3/4-cup nonfat dry milk powder, 1/2 cup quick-cooking rolled oats, 1/4 cup yellow cornmeal. Cut in 1/3 cup shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in 1 egg. Dissolve 1 tbsp. instant chicken or beef bouillon granules in 1/2-cup water then pour the liquid into the flour mixture as you stir with a fork. Form the dough into a ball and knead on a floured board for five minutes. Divide the ball in half and roll each portion until 1/2 inch thick. Use a cookie cutter or shape your own biscuits.

Chicken Liver Cookies Ingredients:
Instructions: Preheat oven to 400F. Combine flour and wheat germ. In separate bowl, beat egg with oil, add broth and parsley then mix well. Add dry ingredients to bowl a little at a time, stirring well. Fold in chicken livers and mix well. Dough will be firm. Turn dough out on lightly floured board and knead a few times. Roll out 1/2 inch thick and cut into shapes. Place on greased cookie sheet 1 inch apart. Bake for 15 minutes or until firm. Store in refrigerator. Makes about 24 cookies. IP: Logged |

Halloween Pumpkin Stew Dogs don't get to trick or treat much, so why not serve up their own special treat at home! 1 can pumpkin 1 cup rice milk .5 cup millet 3 cups mixed fall veggies of your choice, chopped (carrots, beets, turnips, potatoes, etc.) .5 cup quinoa 1 cup tempeh, cubed 2 tablespoons liquid soy lecithin 1 pinch cumin 1 pinch cinnamon vegetable stock, water, or rice milk to cover In a frying pan, saute tempeh in a bit of oil till browned. Veggie Bones Ingredients: Preheat oven to 350 degrees, rack on middle level. Lightly grease a large baking sheet. Stir together parsley, carrots, cheese, and oil. combine all the dry ingredients and add to veggies. Gradually add 1/2 cup of water, mixing well. Make a moist but not wet dough. If needed, add a little more water. Knead for one minute. Roll dough out to 1/2 inch thickness. Using cookie cutter or a glass, cut out the shapes and transfer them to the baking sheet. Gather the scraps and re-roll and cut. Bake for 20 - 30 minutes until biscuits have browned and hardened slightly. (They will harden more as they cool.) Speed cooling by placing them on wire racks. PEANUT BRINDLE (from Three Dog Bakery) 5 cups rice flour In a bowl, mix all ingredients except chopped peanuts together thoroughly. Set aside 1 egg In a food processor, add the above ingredients and blend together. When mixture is thoroughly blended, add to the bowl of dry ingredients. Combine and turn out on a lightly floured surface. Place a piece of plastic wrap on top of dough then roll out dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Remove the plastic wrap and score dough into 4 by 3-inch rectangles. Spritz the top of the rectangles with water and sprinkle chopped peanuts over them. Press the chopped peanuts into the dough with the palm of your hand. Bake at 325 for 50 to 60 minutes. Yield: 12 to 14 pieces IP: Logged |

MUTT MUFFINS (from Three Dog Bakery) 1 apple In food processor puree the apple. Shred carrot with hand shredder. In a bowl mix all wet ingredients together and add pureed apple. Mix wet ingredients thoroughly. 4 cups whole wheat flour Combine dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix thoroughly, scraping sides and bottom of the bowl to be sure none of the dry mixture is left. With an ice cream scoop, fill a muffin pan 3/4 full, sprayed with a nonstick spray. Bake at 350 for approximately 1 hour Yield: 12 to 14 muffins IP: Logged |

CORGI CRUMPETS (from Three Dog Bakery) 2 1/2 cups cornmeal Preheat oven to 350. In a bowl, mix all ingredients except the apple and rolled oats. Grate apple into mixture. With an ice cream scoop, fill into muffin pans lined with paper baking cups and sprinkle with oats. Bake for 40 minutes. Yield: 12 servings IP: Logged |
