My cat was bitten a couple of weeks ago, we took her to the vet and the wound was treated and appears to be healing well. The wound itself looks clean and has scabbed over. It was infected but the vet drained it and so did we for a few days afterwards and cleaned it with peroxide. She's been on antibiotics as well. There is an area beside the bite itself, however, where the skin is discoloured and crusty and flaky. Could this be because the skin isn't normally exposed to the air, or could this be a complication from the bite? Any thoughts? The cat who bit her is "clean" and they are both up to date on all vaccinations. Any input would be appreciated!

This just sounds like some irritation of the skin around the bite area. Since you have been cleaning it and washing it daily, especially with peroxide then it's bound to leave the skin around it dry. Ask your vet if they would recommend anything that might help because im sure it gets itchy as well!

I would put some neosporin on it. This will give it a little bit of moisture and help prevent additional infection.
