I have a bearded dragon and he is about 12" long from head to tail. We have had him since June of 2003. For the past week he has slowed down and does not eat much. He has greens and veggies everyday, but hardly will touch them. He likes his crickets and mealworms, but at this age I thought his diet should be made of about 80% to 90% veggies and fruits. Is this correct? His tank is about 100 degrees on the warm/basking side, and about 70 to 75 on the cool side. He has good lighting, and is sprayed with a water bottle daily. All lights go off at night and his cage gets into the 60's. He shed once in July, and seems to be growing. Somedays he looks a little "orange" in color. Any thoughts on whether he sounds like a normal acting beardie? I just worry that he is not getting enough to eat, or the right combonation of foods and that we have spoiled him on crickets and mealworms. From the orange color and his lethargicness, it sounds like he may have a vitamin defficiency. That's very dangerous for lizards. Have you tried supplements? If this doesn't improve, I would suggest talking to a vet. IP: Logged |
