My fiance and I bought a new kitten today. We havent named him yet and he is 7 weeks old and is so tiny. He was playing with my other cat and he was hiding behind the lounge and I went to pick him up and I accidently stepped on him. He meowed a bit and is kind of scared, I hope. He went to sleep after that, he seems to be walking ok but I think or I hope I just scared him. He seems to be jumping on the furniture still but still kind of cowers, and now he is playing with his toys. I hope I havent hurt him, how will I know if he is hurt? Can anyone offer advice. Please.

Good news, my new little baby seems to be fine. He is playing and running. My new cat loves him (I hope) I need a name for the new addition, any suggestions?

Watch to make sure that he isn't limping or seem to be in pain. Also keep an eye on his eating and drinking. If everything is normal, then I wouldn't worry. Kittens are little and they like to get underfoot. It's hard not to step on them sometimes.

He might be kind of scared for a bit but he should come around and be fine.

Thanks for that. He just ate all his food up and had something to drink, now he is playing like nothing has happened. I am keeping a good eye on him and I really take a lot of care to where I walk. I feel so guilty for not watching where I step, poor thing.

I posted my message right as you did yours. Glad to hear he is better.

Check out this thread for name ideas:

I usually watch mine for a bit and name them based on their personalities. Usually the names just come to me. A couple of them it took me a long time to name, like 3 weeks. The name they finally got is perfect for them though.

The bad news is they don't quite getting in the way when they get older. They just don't get hurt as easily. I fell the other day b/c Eve got under my feet. Everywhere I tried to move she was there. It was either fall or step on her hard.

It's really hard to watch out for kittens. Don't feel bad. Even if you are super careful sometimes you can't avoid it.

Hi,

Your kitten looks like mine did when he was a kitten. At that time, my ex-fiance also stepped on him. He thought he had killed the poor little thing, and I was a wreck. Then he saw him move a little, so I made him rush my kitty to the vet. They actually saved him! He even had some of his skull fractured, and it was really hard to see him in such bad shape, but he got better very quickly. Now he is my baby, really special and so cute. He does have some quirkiness about him sometimes, but he is so funny.

-Just thought I'd share

I'm glad your kitty was okay. That must have been really scary for you. Luckily none of mine have been seriously hurt when they were stepped on.
