My male cat must not realize that he is a cat and that my 70 pound puppy is not "PREY". He keeps starting wrestling matches tht he cannot finish, an as my pup grows, more and more of my cat is fitting in his mouth. Any suggestions as to how I can settle my cat down???? I like him a lot more than just as an appetizer for the dog. IP: Logged |

I see a lot of cats playing with other dogs as if they are the mightiest kitties around. There are exceptions, but when most puppies grow up with another cat, they can actually be quite gentle to the cats. I'm sure if your puppy wanted to he could already have seriously injured your kitty. Also, just the fact that your kitty plays with your puppy, shows that even your kitty feels safe with the him. I'm sure if your cat ever actually got hurt he wouldn't try and play with the puppy anymore. Do you think they like each other or are they actually fighting? IP: Logged |

They are very friendly, but I am worried cause we all know how rough puppies can get. Like this morning, Zeus was lying in the livingroom chewing on his rawhide and her comes the cat and pounces him. And of Course, the Cat ends up pinned to the floor in the dogs mouth, and comes out soaking wet with doggie drool. Now of course, my other cat does not accept this behavior cause she thinks that the dog is "eating" the cat and attacks him. I am just worried that one day the cat could get really hurt. IP: Logged |

We had a heelerX and she and Annibelle loved each other, they played rough with each other, and on serveral acounts, Freckles would carry the cat around by her head...Scared us to death, but the cat never struggled or got away, in fact, she would rub up against Freckles jaw!!! IP: Logged |
