It's over 19 days of incubation but nothing is happening!!! I have checked the eggs with flash light and i can not see nothing. The male goes in to the nest and tries to mate with her while she is sitting on the eggs and they get wild inside, I have found a cracked egg today and i removed it. What should i do next!!! Hi if all the eggs are clear inside and since its been 19days since they were laid you can safely say they are not fertile and they can be removed along with the nest box. I would not place the nest box back in for a month or two as this will give then female time to rebuild her calcium. How old are your birds? mike. IP: Logged |

Hi Mike, The female age is about 14 month and the male is 12 month. I guess i should i remove the rest of the eggs and the nest box to give them some time. What should i do if she will start laying eggs again on the bottom of the cage? (that's how things started). I will post a picture of them (i'll try today) so if you can tell me what kind of budgies are they. Thanks again IP: Logged |

If she lays eggs on the cage floor again then you may have to put the next box back in but to stop her from laying changing the toys around or moving the cage to a different area is enough to stop them from laying. Provide plenty of cuttlefish bone as this will help with her calcium also so do boiled eggs mushed up with the shell. mike IP: Logged |
