if my cockatiel is on my shoulder and we walk by a plant she flies off and lands on the plant. i take her off immediately because ive heard that some plants are harmful...she even jumps on fake plants sometimes. i was just wondering why she does this and if there is anything i should be doing for her that im not? thank you

i do not know ahy birds do this. mine wouild do the exact same thing, they jump onto my plants too. maybe it is an instinct?

it is just that they feel more protected and like they are in the wild.
