How do you get amonia levels down in a two gallon tank..i still seem to have a problem with this..I have one betta fish that i feed only what he will eat and food almost never floats to the bottom ..the water is clear and it is tap water with chlor out in it..I've done everything I leatned but his tank kind of smells strong..Is this normal after getting a new tank...he seems fine but I dont want to change the water so soon..I think it is amonia..any suggestions? 1) How long has the tank been set up? 2) Have you measured the ammonia content? 3) What does the smell you mentioned smell like? 4) The fish seems fine, what makes you suspect the ammonia leve is high? 5) What type filtration, if any, are you using?
