I just got a red bellied piranha that is about 2.5-3 inches. I put him in a tank with two other african cichlids(4in.) which chase him around. I didnt expect this to happen. will this change when the piranha gets bigger??

buy another piranha or 2, so the one has someone to school with. the cichlids will end up keeping all 1,2,3 in one corner of the tank. thats what happened with mine. my 8" P, cornered by 2 2.5" convicts.

I have never heard of that in my entire life. No 2in. convicts are gonna corner a p. I think you both got sloppy drunk one night and bought a couple pacu's.
