We have recently gotten a 4 month old chi whos breath smells like poop all the time! I have never seen him eat it but what other possibility is there? Are there any suggestions out there? I have even given him a small piece of candy to try to freshen his breath but he is not interested. IP: Logged |

2manypets~ Although I don't know what might be causing his bad breath, I do have one suggestion for you. If you don't do so already, be sure you are brushing your dog's teeth (WITH dog toothpaste)! As weird as it may sound, brushing your dogs teeth is incredibly essential to the well-being of your pup!!! Also, brushing your dog's teeth will help with the bad breath as well! I haven't tried thoes yet. I have tried the rawhide thinking it would remove the plaque that could be causing the odor. Thanks for the suggestion, Adorable-Animal! My Baby Shih Poo, I appreciate your reply also, but I dont think its going to work for me. I dont mean to sound rude and I really do appreciate your time and concern, but by the time I brush 4 dogs, 2 cats, 2 kids and my own I will have to give up my job.ha I was concerned that maybe he might have a digestive track disorder of something like that. But if you guys think its just ordinary bad breath, I will relax and try some of the breath bones. Thanks again, both of you. IP: Logged |
