OK--Winnie is STILL sleeping in my bed. When my boyfriend stays the night, she often wakes him up throughout the night!! I bought her a bed a while ago and she doesn't even go near it. WHAT SHOULD I DO??? I want her to sleep in her bed at night. I dont really want to crate her throughout the night because she is in her crate when I am at work during the day. Is there such a thing as a high enough gate that can go around her bed??? She is famous for jumping over high gates, so I need to confine her during the night. I love it when she sleeps in my bedd with just me, but when he is there, its a little harder. What can I do??? Should I let her sleep in there when I am there, and not when he is there?? HELP!!!! Sounds like you got a choice to make ...boyfriend or best friend ? LOL! If you do not want her there when he is there you have to totally break her from your bed when he is not there .You can get some type fencing and fence her in a spot with her bed ,put her there everynight .As long as she is in the same room ,more than apt she will be fine after awhile ,she needs her time with you since you are gone all day also .But she does not understand that she cannot be close while someone else is there ,she is in a routine that she loves ,being with her mom at night .It is a hard decision to make and if it were me ,I'd keep the dog and let the boyfriend sleep in the fenced area. LOL ! Good luck ! IP: Logged |

if you still want her to be able to see you and move around then i would say either a X-large wire crate(for giant breeds) or an ex-pen. if you decide to get an ex-pen you can buy then in various heights. and if they dont have a height you want then you can purchase a smaller sized one and just throw in another$30 for a topper or 'lid' claire IP: Logged |

My mother-inlaw has her dog sleep in the spare bathroom at night. But then again, she doesn't let him sleep on the bed ever. Whatever you go with should probably be consistent so your dog won't "resent" your boyfriend. IP: Logged |

I may not be so nice. When my hubby and I first started living togethor and he complained I told him there was a spare bedroom I figure they were there before him and more than willing to make room for him on the bed so he was just going to have to deal with it Everyone is still on the bed and he has some room for himself so I figure we won that battle IP: Logged |
