what on earth am i doing wrong?? i take out the spaces between the brackets and the img....why do you even put them in to begin with when you have to take them out? so i get the properties off the picture ok, i paste it onto my message, i add [ img ]before the http, i add [ /img ] after the jpg thing. then i go back and take those spaces out? which i've done this. the pictures are there when i first look at the post, i come back and they are gone. help!! JJami: Does the end of your URL look anything like this .jpg.orig.jpg If so try taking everything past the first jpg off and then put the [/img] So it will look like this on the end after your URL .jpg[/img] See how that works. This is what I was told and I got it to work. Good luck I want to see your pups. Once you get it you will be so happy. IP: Logged |

Jjami, I don't think you need to put the spaces in at all. The only reason it's written as [ img ] in the instructions is because that's the only way it can be written, without being a "command". Does that make sense? Heck, what do I know - I can't get it to work either! I don't think the way your link is written is your problem -- my pics also disappear after a while. I've tried several times! If you figure it out, please let me know. I'd love to see your maltepoo! [This message has been edited by dbuzzw (edited 06-16-2003).] IP: Logged |

Some servers will not allow hosted images to be called from other web sites. jjami57690, your image code is fine. The problem is with Yahoo (your image host). It simply blocks the image from being displayed on none yahoo pages. Heres the address you've supplied: http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/groups/g_2517430/pets/sitting+pretty.jpg You get: Auspetian

jjami.. try posting your pictures on another site.. i use www.picturetrail.com goob also suggested www.seemesmile.com both sites allow free uploading of pictures.. just simply go to the site you choose and sign up for free membership.. then sign in and upload your pics.. once they are uploaded you can open up the pic and right click and then click on properties.. the properties section will list the address the pic can be found at.. then follow all the rest of the directions (found under the FAQ section of auspet), such as [ img] and [ /img] (without the spaces).. i hope i've helped and haven't added to the confusion.. good luck getting your pics up, can't wait to see them IP: Logged |

i think picture trail has given me the boot..i used them for several months for pictures of my crafts, then i started getting emails from them saying they were shutting down my free account because i'd reached the end of my free trial. i tried seemesmile but it was soooo slow the night i tried it....i though yahoo would work. thanks auspetian for letting me know about yahoo, at least i know it isn't just me being stupid. i'm going to go try seemesmile again, maybe i'll have better luck tonight.
