My cat has been increased to 4mls of Insulin after 3 weeks. His blood sugar only dropped 5 points last week and we have to go again tomorrow to check it. Is this normal? Does it take a while to regulate? Will he be ok? IP: Logged |

i assume you mean 4 units of insulin, not 4mls. Diabetis in cats is a strange thing and the dose rate of insulin can go up and down ( usually up) for the cats entire life. I would say this is normal and there may be many contributing factors. How much they eat, how much they excersise, even the seasons - warm vs cold I recommend you get your cats Glucose level checked every 3 months even if you think the cat is doing fine.... it can take many weeks, even months to find the perfect dose rate.
