My cat has been increased to 4mls of Insulin after 3 weeks. His blood sugar only dropped 5 points last week and we have to go again tomorrow to check it. Is this normal? Does it take a while to regulate? Will he be ok?

i assume you mean 4 units of insulin, not 4mls.
Diabetis in cats is a strange thing and the dose rate of insulin can go up and down ( usually up) for the cats entire life.
I would say this is normal and there may be many contributing factors.
How much they eat,
how much they excersise,
even the seasons - warm vs cold

I recommend you get your cats Glucose level checked every 3 months even if you think the cat is doing fine....

it can take many weeks, even months to find the perfect dose rate.
Please don't worry too much, your vets are there to help you through this.
