My new kitty (medium hair) seems to be having problems with his poop sticking to his bum. At first it was no problem, we'd just help him by cutting it out or wiping it off, but lately it's becoming a big problem it seems. It's getting ALL over his bum. We had the same problem w/ Kayli, but she grew out of it, so I assume he will too. I am not around to check his stools, but they seem fine in the litter box, no diarreah or anything. What can I do to correct this problem? IP: Logged |

Hello. Welcome back. How was your trip? I don't have an answer to your question. Perhaps someone else here will. If not you can always just call your vet and ask them over the phone if they have any suggestions or if they think it may be due to a medical problem. Is this a new thing or has Pepi been doing this for a while? IP: Logged |

My trip was very nice and relaxing - thanks It's the first time I've seen/noticed him doing it. Hopefully there aren't any marks around the place that I haven't seen! When I can, I've just waited till he was done and I've wiped his lil bum for him. IP: Logged |

take him to the vet and ask for a 'bottom clip', they will shave his hair directly around his bottom and inner thighs and a little under the tail. it grows back within 6 weeks, but it will certainly help you with this problem. IP: Logged |

I agree with Yahdah. I had to get Tiddy a sanitary clip for the very same reason. He has very long hair and for a short time this was a big problem with him...he used to leave skid marks across my rug as well. Yuck. IP: Logged |

Thanks guys. I am gonna give him a lil bath today just to get rid of some of the .. residue. The thing is, it isn't even really all in his hair much, it's around his anus. Like, the actual skin and hole. Maybe his stool is very soft? I don't know. It appears normal. Either way, I will get it done when I bring him in. IP: Logged |

Hello. Any updates? I also wanted to ask you if you had any pics of Pepi and Kayli that you wanted me to post in the 'picture gallery post' by Sirkevi. I don't have any of the pics you sent me via e-mail as I put those on picturetrail and did not save them onto my computer. To post a direct picture onto a post, picturetrail is not the easiest. I had to go to another site, which is way easier. Anyway, if you want to send a pic to add to that post I will set you up on that other site and you can post your pic(S) from there. It's so easy to use. IP: Logged |

Hi. No updates as of yet, I am calling tomorrow for an appt at the vet, which probably wont happen until Monday. He still whines and takes a long time in the litter box, so I have to ask about that, maybe it's all related. I will be getting Kayli spayed that same day. I have no new pics as of late that I have uploaded to my computer, but .. soon! IP: Logged |
