Ok, We got home last night at about 7:30pm. I walked into the kitchen to get Toms food and then to the bathroom to change his litter.
Well Granvel comes in and says he smells something in the bed room. So I'm thinking "great Tom pooed again." SO we looked everywhere, Granvel checks around the bed and quickly looks under it and we can't find anything. Soooo, we figure maybe its something outside.
I had glanced down at the trash can and knoticed that the bag looked like it had been messed with (its the wire mesch kind of Trashcan with the plastic bags)

I discarded it and we went about our business. So Granvel says he's getting into bed for a minute and watch TV and I continue back to the Bathroom to finish the Kitty Litter.
About 2 minutes later Granvel comes in, gets the .22 rifle, and tells me to stay in there. SO I'm thinking great some ones here, theres a snake. Something, well you know me, I had to go too.
It was a Possum. Granvel was laying on the bed and he came walking out from under the bed like he owned the place!!!!

At first I thought Granvel was kidding and it was just Tom he saw. But Tom was with me the whole time.....lickin my feet as usual.

He siad he went into the closet and to make sure he didn't come out, he was going to shoot him. Of course I threw a fit, "don't kill it lets just catch it. Your gonna blow a hole in the wall...the whole 9 yards...

So i get a sheet, Granvels pokin around in the closet, and No Possum. I suggested we get Tom and let him flush him out....Granvel said no that he was bigger than Tom. I was like "Yeah, right...."

We heard some scratching and walking above our heads, he had climbed the back of the clothes and gotten into the uncovered air vent and into the attic.
So we wen't on to bed thinking he's gone now.
NOpe!
10pm we hear somehting in the trash...Granvel flips on the lights, he runs under the bed, I screamed. I've NEVER seen a Possum that BIG!!! He must have weighed 20lbs!!!!!

He ran back in the closet, but Granvel blocked him from getting back in the vent. He was growling, hissing and trying to bite!! SO We couldn't get him out anyhow, I was so scared he had rabies, and Granvels Hunting Bow and Arrow was right there, So he shot him with the arrow.

We get him out side and we hear this horrible Growling and howling coming from inside. I though "oh god theres another one, and its got Tom...."
No..Toms Standing on the bed. Howling like a lion and prancing around like he did some heroic act. It was sooo funny watching him act as if he "tackled the Demon"
Sad thing is, I kept him in the kitchen. Guess he got out when we went out to get the nasty thing outside.

Oh cats can be sooo funny. What gets me is why didn't he know he was there in the first place?? He's such a good mouser and chases anything that moves.

I don't doubt Tom didn't open the door for him and invite it in!!

We figured out how he got in, he pulled back the screen on the back door.

Talk about an eventful night!!!

Anyone else have wierd experiances????

that WAS a funny story, would have scared me half to death! To needabrk2: I read about the loss of your kitten, very sorry to hear that, I hope you are feeling better. My Bella Is only 5 mo. old (approx) and been with us only 3 1/2 mo. In that time I cannot believe how much I have bonded with her. I have never understood how people felt about their pets until she came along but boy do I understand now. Anyway, Bella is at the vets now recovering from Spaying/declawing surgery where she's been all day and will be there till about 4:00 tomorrow. Everything went well but I can't wait to have her home, I miss her so much. I can only imagine how you must feel. Feel better

I used to live in an apartment building with a "shotgun" style hallway. This very long hallway connected the front living areas to the back bedrooms. The boys (Max and Murphy) would tear *** down that hallway and come to a skidding stop in front of the closed computer room door (amazing how they always seemed surprised to find it there). Very funny and they always had so much fun doing it.

Well....I go into the bathroom one day and Murph is sitting on the vanity staring intently at the closed window. He's not crying, or chirping or fidgeting...just sitting there sphynxlike. I assume that he wants me to open the window so that he can sit on the sill and enjoy a lovely summer day. But when I opened the window, a little sparrow (which got caught behind the screen) flew straight into the bathroom, smacking me in the chest. Though it seemed a little disoriented, it took a left and flew down the shotgun hallway.

I was so shocked...I screamed. And here comes the best part. I said the bird took a left. Well, Murph and I took a right. And we didn't stop until there wasn't anywhere else to go.

My ex and I opened our doors to the balcony to make sure the bird had a way to get out. We assumed the little guy flew away because my fierce hunters were sitting on the floor in the living room sagely licking their paws (What? Who, me? Freaked out by that little bird? No Way!).

But later that night we found the sparrow in our closet. Scared, but otherwise in good shape. We set her free with my little predators none the wiser.
