Hi I'm new here, I have 5 Cats (Mitz, Tango, Courtney, Rags & Bones) My cat Bones absolutly loves mint, mint plants, toothpaste, chewing gum & especially extra strong mints! I even once got a minty shampoo and had to wash it out of my hair with a different shampoo, because Bones smelt it and kept biting my head Has anyone got any idea why he likes it sooo much? My cats hate the smell of toothpaste or mouthwash. As soon as they get a wiff they squint their eyes and recoil. Maybe it is just personal preference. IP: Logged |

Many cats are very attracted to catnip which is in the mint family. The catnip I use has a minty smell to it. Maybe that has something to do with it? Just a thought IP: Logged |

Welcome to the site. I have a large garden full of plants, trees, fruit, vegies and herbs and Handsome (my cat) loves the mint herbs as much as he likes the fresh catnip herbs. However, I don't think he would be too crazy about mint gum or toothpaste, but he's not allowed to have it, so maybe he would like it given the opportunity. I'm sure if you got your cat either a fresh catnip plant or dried catnip he would love it. IP: Logged |
