Hey everyone. I was just wondering if any of you knew what may be wrong with my cat. My cat Daisy is about 6 years old and 2 nights ago we found her underneath my parents bed. We looked under and she was rolling around and her eyes looked dilated and she was somewhat spitting at the mouth. At the same time she kept peeing everywhere. It was too late to call the vets and it can't be rabies i do'nt think b/c she just had her shots. When i woke up yesterdy morning she looked fine as if nothing had happened. She looks fine again today but i am still scared whenever I am near her- afraid she is sick or something. So if any of you can help me please reply. Thank You Very Much! IP: Logged |

When you say "just" had her shots...how long ago is "just"? Maybe it was a reaction to her shots? How is she now? IP: Logged |

It was a good couple months ago. I just meant that she had them recently but not like a few days ago. It seems like she is doing good right now, I am just confused why she was so sick the other night when she looks pretty much perfect now. IP: Logged |

It sounds a lot like my dog used to be when he had an eptileptic (sp?) siezure. Can cats have epilepsy? I'm not sure, but I know dogs can. It might be worth checking out. He was on daily medication, but he lived 15 years and had his first siezure when he was a puppy. Whatever it is, I hope your cat is fine and will continue to be. IP: Logged |

Caitlin038: Before this happened had you recenlty put any flea meds on her? Is there anything in the house that she could have gotten into? Im glad to hear that she is fine now. IP: Logged |

Ok thanks (tiftgirl) I will have to see if I can get an appointment at the vet and see if that could be what has been going on IP: Logged |

No we haven't recently put any flea medications on her. I cannot think of anything that she could have gotten into, though it is possible. I will have to look into it. Thanks for the help IP: Logged |

What about a houseplant she could have eaten. A lot of common houseplants are poisonous to cats. IP: Logged |

Did you get to take her to the vet? What did the vet say? I am curious to know what they think IP: Logged |

No I didn't get to take her to the vet because I decided that she was fine. But if this happens again I will definitely call the vet as soon as possible. Thanks IP: Logged |

I would definately look around to make sure she can't get into any houseplants that are poisonous to her. They could cause her to have the type of reaction your described. I didn't realize until recently how many houseplants are poisonous to cats. I had a scare with my cats eating an aloe vera plant. IP: Logged |
