Hi everyone, I had dropped off simba to my friends place as I will be leaving for 6 months. My friend told me that he stopped eating the wet food and that he only eats the dry food and he sits all day next to the door howling and crying what can I do to help? I feel so bad sob sob IP: Logged |

hi Have you visisted him since you dropped him off? If you haven't, don't be tempted to. It will only confuse Simba. Is your friend possibly over-reacting and mistaking his meows for cries and howls? He no doubt misses you like crazy and is off some of his food. But he won't starve himself. Give him a few more days to settle in. I completly understand it is hard on him and you. Has your friend given any thought to getting a kitty companion for Simba to play with? A bit dramstic i know, esp if your friend doesn't want a cat long-term. But you can always keep it afterwards....just a thought (however far out in left field it is.....) Keep us posted. IP: Logged |

Thanks Cat, I haven't gone to visit him and believe me I am sooooooo very tempted in fact today only i was looking at fares to go and get him but no i can't do that. Um I told my friend that he is only depressed which is probably why he isn't eating. I like the idea of another kitty but I don't think my friend wants that additional responsibility. It's a great idea I know simba will enjoy that. IP: Logged |

Maybe once he gets used to his new surroundings he'll start eating the canned food again. It may take a week or longer but Im sure he'll adjust fine. IP: Logged |
