Sometimes we have to spray Raid for ants that we have in the washroom/kitchen (it's not an infestation or anything, don't think I am unclean!!). But it cannot be wiped up, it needs to sit for a bit.

Now I obviously keep my cat outta the room that I've sprayed, but I am worried that she later may lick it (for whatever reason).

Also, when I clean the floors I get concerned that she will get sick from the cleaners.

I dont think with the cats out of the room you have a problem. Does it say after you let it sit for what ever amount of time you can clean it up? If you can just make sure you clean over it a couple of times. usually cats will advoid chemicals because of the smell and alot of products have bittering agents to keep kids from drinking it so it should be the same for your cat.

I've actually worried about the same thing - especially when I'm doing floors and I have a bucket of Pine-Sol - I'm afraid they'd want to drink it like it was their water.

So far, they have shown no interest at all in my cleaning products. If anything, they avoid that area I've been cleaning for a while.

The first time my cat was around while I was mopping the floors he licked the wet floor. I assume it tasted bad because he only took one taste and has not tried since. he didn't appear to suffer from it at all, probably because he tasted so little.

I do have a bigger worry about other cleaners. For example when I clean the kitchen table or dust he always wants to chase the rag around. He not only gets his footprints on the wet glass, but I worry that he'll get sick from licking his feet later. So far he's been OK.

Why not just use vinegar water for cleaning? It can clean anything, and is very inexpensive. Then you don't have to worry about the animals, the environment, or your own lungs.
