Hi everyone.... ive got great news. A couple of days ago i posted news that i found a sick kitten and i asked if anyone had some advice. WELL... He is doing great. His eyes and nose dont drain nearly as much and hes been playing. His breathing is great and hes been eating. Ive named him charlie (he looks like a charlie :P) He also started to purr a couple of days ago and its been non-stop since! I finally introduced Charlie to my other cat cali... shes not real happy, but she seems to be coming around. I just had to tell everyone on here because my family doesnt understand how excited i am about my new addition. I also have an appointment to the vet for him in 2 days. I do have one big question... His hearing isnt really good. He cant hear people talk to him if its in a normal tone or anything else that isnt loud. So i was wondering if this is going to bother him.... He doesnt seem to notice but i think its so sad that his hearing is so limited. Thanks ------------------ IP: Logged |

Great to hear that your kitten is doing well!! I had a cat once that was blind in one eye. You would never know it though. Charlie will be fine. One thing came to my mind when you mentioned that he has some hearing.....the way my cats respond to the sound of the food being served. Maybe you could get a bell or something that makes a loud enough noise for him to hear when it's time to eat. That way he will have a sound he can hear that will make him happy. I recently brought a new (female)kitten into a house of four adult cats (3 male, 1 female). After a few weeks all was fine. The best part was seeing the oldest male cat (14 years old) playing like a kitten with the new addition. Makes her feel young again! Just be sure to give Cali some quality time alone with you! Good Luck! [This message has been edited by wtpooh (edited 10-06-2003).] IP: Logged |

Hi there thats great news about your kitty. Concerning his hearing it would be worth a trip to the vets just to have him/her check in his ears to make sure there is nothing in there, ear mites can sometimes cause a cat to lose partial or total hearing. But again congratulations on doing so well with the kitty and hope you have many long years together... IP: Logged |
