Do any of you have cats that when they use the box, they suddenly just get all wide eyed and charge out of the box running like something is after them? Lol. Sometimes my cat will use his litterbox and then dart out, sometimes even scuffing the carpet on his way out, like something is behind him. It is the funniest sight cause his ears are laid back too. Is there any explanation for this? My bf's cat sometimes does this too. IP: Logged |

He went to the vet just two weeks ago. And he doesn't have any infections. I also keep a close eye on his box since he is prone to FLUTD and he definitely pees ok. He does this often, not just recently. IP: Logged |

Yeah also if the cat has an infection there are usually other signs. Eventually the cat will most probably stop using the box altogether or start peeing in other areas if he associates it with pain. There is also sometimes blood in the urine and straining. Newton uses it normally with both pee and poo. And just a few days ago I heard him in the box, I could not believe the peeing sound. It was a strong healthy waterfall pee. If he had done like a teaspoon of pee or something I would be concerned. And the two times he got the infection he would tell me by "squatting" in front of me, almost as if he was telling me "mom if you don't get me to a vet, I will pee on your carpet." And the times he did have the infection he even still tried to use the box, bless his heart. IP: Logged |

Sounds like play to me. My cat does that. She'll be walking by something and then suddenly take off with her tail in an upsidedown "U" shape. If she would be scared she would flatten herself to the ground and slink to hide (which she does often) so I know its in play. Then she'll have 5 minutes of sillies. IP: Logged |
