i just had to move my 2 cats from my mom's house to my dad's which is ike 30 min away and a lot bigger. They are outdoor cats....i want to be able to let them out again (by the way i will be here almost every weekend and they are used to me...). How long should i wait to let them go out....and how long do you think it will take them to get used to it. I have heard that they might try to go back to there home and thats the last thing i want them to do and the enviroment is very different then from my dads. My moms is a lot of houses and not a lot of trees and my dads is the total opposite.... please let me know what you think..... i hated moving them but i had to.... At least 1-14 days, but a lot of people wait a month to really let them get their bearings. A new environment could be a good time to make them indoor cats if you want to do that. Mine are all indoor and perfectly happy, the two that want to go outside go outside with me occasionaly. There are too many bad things outside to hurt kitties. I have had cats get run over, run away, get lost, get stolen, and even get poisoned. Its not a nice world to cats. IP: Logged |

i agree with you fleafly... i wasnt the one that wanted to let them out at my moms....it was my mom.... so i might just let them stay inside..... i was always scared to let them out because there was a busy road next to out house.... but at my dads there are at least 3 strays ive seen....and my cats dont really know how to defend themselves..... thanks....
