Two (2) of my three 1 year old cats love to scratch at my carpeted stairs. They have scratching posts, made w/ carpet and thick rope...only 1 uses it. The other 2 constantly scratch at the carpet steps. I have sprayed it w/ no scratching spray from PETCO, does not work. I will not declaw them!!! No way! But I am getting fed up with seeing litle pieces of carpet all over the house, and I can see right through it sometimes. Any suggestions?????

Was the spray you bought from Petco called Feliway?
You could try sticky paws. www.stickypaws.com

My cats love the cat sratching pads. They sit on the floor. They don't really like scratching posts, but they love the pads. I spray them with a water bottle when I see them scratching.

I gave up and had wood floors laid and took down all the blown vinyl wallpaper and replaced it with painted plaster walls!
They still have a go at the doors but what the hell they are only doing whats natural!
