I have 2 male brother cats, both are fixed. For some reason they have really bad peeing problem. They usually will pee in their litter box, but some days they will pee else where other then their litter box. I try everything from punishment, to any kind of spary I can get from pet shops or vets. I still can't stop them from peeing. I usually clean their little box twice a day, and wash the entire little box every other week. I kept the house clean, and I kept them happy by spenting time petting and playing with them. I just don't know why they are not happy. I had try everything anyone suggested me, I am on the broader driving them out in the middle of nowhere and dump them. Also added on this message, I am not the first time cat owner, but I just don't understand why I am having problem with this two cats. Please, anyone has any idea what is going on with my cats, and what else I can do, please, please contact me by e-mail. I really need help. Please... IP: Logged |

When you say punish them, what do you do? Unless a pet is caught the instant it is misbehaving, then punishment later will only make them very anxious. The only punishment you should give is a firm No, Naughty, then immediately pop them onto their box and praise them. No slaps or shouting. You say your pets are happy, but their behaviour could be a sign of anxiety. I agree with Iluvmypup that you only clean the box every other day so they can still smell their wee there. Pick out the poo with a plastic bag though. I hope you are not serious about dumping your cats. If you do this to pets, they would almost certainly die a horrible death - from starvation, or being attacked by predators. This is not the easiest of problems to fix, but with patience, and love, you can do it. IP: Logged |

i also have a neutered male cat and he keeps peeing in my room, i have no idea why, and i have cilicon kitty litter which absorbs the pee, and i clean the poo out everyday, this was he can always smell his own smell, but it doesn't matter weather its a clean or dirty litter box, he still likes to pee in my room, my theory is that he is attempting to spray to mark his teritory, b/c hes indoor, and can't do it outside, but i have tryed everything, including catching him and shoving his face in it, adn then taking him to his litter box, nothing works, ig anyone has found and way to stop it please e-mail me.
