Author | Topic: Swollen foot on kitten |
stacy83 unregistered |
![]() ![]() I have a 10 day old kitten. He has been very healthy but I noticed tonight that his foot and part of his leg is pretty swollen. No bite mark is noticeable but there is a blister on his leg. He is avoiding using it. Does anyone know what to do to help the swelling until I can take him to the vet in the morning? Please hurry!! ![]() ![]() ![]() My best thought is to keep him comfortable until morning. If he has an infection from whatever made the blister it can be painful and antibiotics should help with that which you'll need to get from your vet. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Don't know what your part of the world is like for nasty creepy crawlies but a blister can be indicative of some kind of insect bite. I think a trip to see the vet as soon as you can would be a good idea, especially taking his age into account. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() Thanks for your suggestions. Took kitten to the vet this A.M. and they think it is septic arthritis which could have come from an insect bite. We caught it early, and with enough antibiotics, the vet thinks it should be ok. Thanks again! IP: Logged |
