Hi It isn't normal for a kitten that age to sleep all the time, but if in her waking time she is active and playing then its quite normal. Kittens do need a lot of sleep. Also the move to your home and the new surroundings may have been a shock for her and she needs time to settle before her normal routine resumes. She might not eat properly for a few days. However, she might be sick and need medical attention, so if she isn't eating then I'd take her to the Vet. Did she get a medical check up before you got her? At 6 weeks she should be weaned so should eat kitten food. Do you know the breeder? You could ask what the kitten has been eating up till now. Otherwise try raw meat, cooked meat (both red and white), try different brands of jellimeat and flavours. Also try heating the food a little (to room temp)which makes it smell better. Don't give her cow's milk as this can be very bad for cats. Give her pet milk if you're not already. Good luck IP: Logged |

At 6 weeks she is a little young to have been taken from the mother AT ALL!!!!! She may not be weaned yet and therefore you will have to bottle feed her whilst trying to get her weaned. Damn irresponsible breeders who let kittens go to homes at such a young age (grrrrr) IP: Logged |
