Hi I am sorry to hear about your cat. I recently lost my first cat to kidney failure. The vet laid our options to us very simply. We could subject her to daily needles to regulate her blood sugar, which would leave her tired and let her waste away herself or put her to sleep and out of her misery. We opted for the latter as she had a good life and no one wanted to subject her to needles, blood tests, special diets and pain. The choice is yours to make, but if you have ever apoken to a diabetic, they will tell you the difficulties of maintaining a constistant blood sugar level and of the complications to can occur including blindness and loss of finger/toes to name a few. Its not an easy choice to make. The best thing to do either way is to give your kitty as much love as you can. My thoughts are with you. IP: Logged |
