Got up this morning and noticed that one of our six kittens is crying constantly and very cold. It's mouth is hanging open and I can't seem to get him warm. Mama kitty is not paying much attention when she sees this one. She just puts it back in the box with others. I know he is dying..............HELP!!!! IP: Logged |

He died before I could get dressed and take him...........so sad. We have 5 more kittens and I will be watching them very closely. Tried to give him some water and milk, nothing worked. Also tried warming him up. Wish I knew what happened. They all seemed fine yesterday. :{ IP: Logged |

(kittens 3-6 wks.)Less common, Panleukopenia(distempter)is a cause of death. It carries the loss of appetite and cold symptons.More likely is infectious diseases.Toxoplasmosis(parasitic),Bordetella((bacterial)and there are other"viral"types also. Some transmitted from mother.(source:www.vetinfo.com,then search, sudden death)I suggest matching symptoms to a cause and use the vet as your 2nd opinion.(in "preventitive" cases only) IP: Logged |
