My Mainecoon cat is peeing in different places throughout the house. She has been using the bathroom corner for sometime, unfortunately. I raised her in a place that had a litterbox inside. No litterbox here. I let her out more than she would like to, she comes running back in. She is one of five cats, but the only high maintenance one. Now with our baby boy (one and a half) I can't spoil her like I used to, which is sad I know, but it can't be helped. I guess I'm going to answer my own question and say that I need to get a litter box inside for her. (The other four cats go outdoors) And show her as much love as I can, right? Wish I could retrain her to go outside. She actually does at times. Because she's not pooping inside! But the pee smells sooooo bad. Any suggestions on ridding the place of that horrid smell? Oh, guess you can't name brands here. Have tried something with wind in the name, doesn't work. Thanks, Staley IP: Logged |

It sounds like your cat is a bit jealous. You could try putting a cat box by your back door for a couple of weeks and then slowly moving it outside into your garden. Also make sure you fuss her and give plenty of cuddles. To get rid of the smell and the cat peeing in those places use lemon scented cleaning products or to stop her using those places some pieces of lemon rind (cats hate all citrus fruits). I hope this helps IP: Logged |

straybaby- I checked with the Webmaster if it was okay to give you a brand name for a very good cat urine stain and odor remover and they said it was ....so try "Nature"s Miracle Just For Cats". You can get it at any good petstore. It's one of the few products I've found that usually works. Problem of course is, if the kitty continues to pee, then you're fighting an uphill battle!
