![]() ![]() Hello, I came upon this site while doing research on heart murmurs in cats. I took my 11 week old savannah kitten, alexander to the vet today for his shots. The vet heard a heart murmer - grade 2. She suggested an echo cardiogram. How serious are heart murmers in kittens? Alexander is very active and doesn't seem to be bothered any by the murmur. ANy advice or information would be appreciated. Thanks, Connie and Alexander IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hi Connie- What was the result of the echo cardiogram? Heart murmurs can be rather benign and what they call "functional" and nothing to be alarmed about. Compatible with a healthy life. In people too!. However some may indicate heart disease but only further testing would reveal more. How's Alexander doing now? Let us know...it's been a while since you posted. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() My kitten was also told he had a murmour. My best goes to your kitten. I know how hard this. Please if you see any signs you may not have noticed before let me know. I am not sure what to watch for. My vet was very unhelpful. Keep me updated. And best of luck. IP: Logged |
