Hi, My cat has been diagnosed with Feline Leukemia Feb. 2002. He is on medication for the disease & for his teeth. He isn't really eating much at all....although he has been drinking KMR kitten formula. He has been drinking ALOT of water today ( Dec. 10 ). But mostly just moping around today...a few nights ago he made a loud moan-like meow.... we thought he may have needed to use the litter box, but when we put him in there, he collapsed. But he's been walking around fine since. We consulted with the Vet & he said that a feeding tube is a possibility, but I think he may be too far gone for that...my only other option is to put him to sleep & I don't wanna do this. But I don't want him to suffer either. Is there any other symtoms that I should know about in dealing with Feline Leukemia? If so PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! I'd really appreciate it, thank you for your time. Sincerely, IP: Logged |

I know what it is like to deal with a sick cat, my old cat molly had cancer and got run over by a car 3 times. My friend went through a similar situation a while ago, but with a dog. I have read that it comes down to Quality of life, do what is best for your cat. (Sometimes it is hard to say what is best for your cat, it may be what is best for you) Good Luck. IP: Logged |
