Which aversion aids can anyone recommend to train our two neutered males not to destroy rugs, upholstered chairs, window coverings by scratching? They do use sisal scratch boards & we plan to buy/make a cat tree. We aren't home often enough to train them by spraying with water, yelling, praising. THANKS!!! IP: Logged |

You could try double-sided tape on the chairs and things you want no destruction or climbing; slipcovers; cutting nails every week religiously; also, I have used hard scatter mats/remnants that match my wall-to-wall carpetting, and put them down in the doorways, all doorways, to like the bath, kitchen, etc, and this can control the clawing/ruining of a doorway rug area; and getting a simple cheap cat scratch post. Also, there is repellent, but it does to some degree have an odor which you might not like. Tried and true is the cutting of the claws by far and the tape. Good luck now. IP: Logged |
