Our cat, Basil, has really been having a hard time urinating. He's had problems before with crystals in his bladder, and each time we take him to the vet we get some temporary help, but the problem keeps re-occuring. Now it looks as though there may be blood in his urine. No pain that we can tell, and he's not as agitated or restless as he has been before. We're going to the vet again; if you have any ideas, please help. IP: Logged |

You'll of course have to take kitty in again to vet for an antibiotic as hematuria is another sign of yet another infection there in the urinary system. You don't say what kind of crystals, but the struvite are the most common. Were you feeding the strict diet to alleviate this, such as Purina One's Special Diet for Adults and Hill's cd-s? Perhaps kitty doesn't drink enough as well, or has other problems that require further testing. I hope everything goes better soon. IP: Logged |
