Deus: SUPER link!! I am a dog food fanatic. Going to Amazon.com for the "Consumer Guide to Dog Food". I was tripping that there's food with sodium pentobarbital in it. They named ProPlan as one. Notice they listed "Old Mother Hubbard" food. I buy their dog cookies. People say I'm a little eccentric, But I taste some things I give to my dogs. Mother Hubbard, not bad. Very informative. THANX!!

PiTsRrEaLdOgS,

First off I'm not a canine nutritional expert. I only know that over the last 30 yrs I’ve tried almost all the popular brands out there and that thru my own research and asking questions I’ve narrow down what works best for me and my dogs.

If you are asking me what I think about Alpo, well the answer is not very much infact I haven’t fed that kind of grocery store pet food to my dogs in years.

Out of all the kibble I’ve tried so far in my opinion the Solid-Gold product line is among the best. Also you must understand that in all commercial processed kibble, what’s on the label isn’t necessarily what’s in the bag.

The reason for this is simple “Cooking” the cooking process and the preservatives that must be add to the food in order to give it a descent shelf life robs the food of much of its
Original nutrients for this reason NO kibble is as complete a diet for our dogs as we are led to believe.

This is one of the reasons I no longer feed kibble to my dogs at all.
Below are some links that can better explain the nutritional needs of the canine.

I hope this helps
Walt
