When my husbands dog had ringworm as well as her puppies he used unscented babywipes to clean the area each day and just used an over the counter topical ointment for ringworm or jockitch you can get it at any pharmacy or some place like walmart it also comes in a spray and using a shampoo such as T-gel to clean the spots works well to.
Im sure your vet would say different and would most likely prescibe you a very expensive cream, we have found the above treaments work much better and quicker.
Good Luck to you.

First off I would talk to my VET asuming you hav'nt does so already. If for some reason this is not an option, You can do a serch on the subject. I know there are shampoo's and ointments out there.
http://www.fungrx.com/
http://www.mesosilver.com/ringworm.htm
http://www.skinstore.com/store/category.asp?catID=415

These links are the results of a quick serch but they do not mention dogs however so again
I recommend that you check with your vet.

Hope that helps

so i should just treat this case of ringworms like as if my child had it and the same creams work for dogs as well as people? The dog when to the vet the vet said that it would cost like 900 bucks to fix the dog but doing research i found out that the ringworm is the same as the ringworm people get. I guess is there really a differance between curing a person or a dog the creams for a person would work. How does the dog get the ring worm in the first place
is it caused buy the breeder or something that just happens to dogs if they are in the wrong place at the wrong time, are the passed down from the mother or father if none of them have it ? the pup is 6 months old now, just tring to figure out where he got this from

dogs can take a lot of different medications that we take. Amazing. They can also take a lot of meds that are specifically made for other animals. Ivomectin for instance. Same active ingred in Heart Guard, but it is also a cattle/swine dewormer called Ivomec. Use this for heartworm preventative and it costs you only a fraction of what heartGuard and vet visits would cost you. Ya can't beat $38/year to treat 9 dogs every month for heartworm perventative. (It also clears up mange) There are a ton of other things that are great and cost pennies compared to prescription vet drugs.
