I have a huge problem i'm trying to get $275.00 for another pit but where i just move there is NO jobs and i'm 17 so it's hard enough to find a good job. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can get anysort of money fast. I talked this guy down from $450.00 so I can't pass this deal up someone please give me some ideas.It would be greatly apprecitive.

kyles101, makes a good point, If you can't afford to buy it how can you feed it and take care of its medicals?

Is this a full blooded dog or a mix breed?

Are you purchasing from REAL breeder or a BYB?

Deus, it doesn't much matter whether it is purebred or mix. The guy has no income or means to support this dog and probably doesn't have the $$ to support the one he's got. I can't believe people like him, but then again, he is only 17. WAIT! That isn't even a good enough excuse. I was MARRIED with a family, home, bills and everything else at that age. (Ok, so not everyone is married at 17..but, what I'm saying is, most people, I think, have some common sense at this age...right?)

Anyway, if it was from a breeder who cared, they wouldn't sell anyone that young a puppy. I would never sell a dog to a minor. I don't even like to sell to someone under the age of 21!

Its obvious a BYB, what kind of breeder lets a 17 year old talk them down from 450 to 275, WAIT what kind of breeder lets anyone period talk them down from a set price, let alone a minor without income. Why did you ever bother trying to get the dog or even talking down the price? If you didn't have any $?

don't never talk about how i can't support my dog alls i asked for was some advice and only one person gave me some thankx 2 her. Anyways all i have to do is get the money for the dog and the rest is taken care of. But **** this you all sit here and judge me and i don't have an income CUZ I'M 17 and you say people like me.......if anyone of you ever thought you could get away with saying that to my face well you r damn wrong. but we're on the internet oh you guys are real adults sit on a website and talk shit to a kid. that's pretty bad that i'm more mature than most of you to hell with you and to hell with this site peace

I know if I were 17 and wanted a dog (really bad) and didn't have the money, that I would ask my parents to help me out. Maybe if I worked up the money to purchase the dog... then just maybe they would help me take care of it until I could find a way (job) to make money to take care of the dog myself. Thats would I probably do anyway. But if my parents weren't willing to help me out then I wouldn't even bother until I knew I had a way to make money.
My friend's brother is 15 or 16 and he makes a nice bit just for spending money (cutting grass) So that was why I had suggested it.

I won't adopt to people that are young i.e. 17 years old.
The number of reasons are:
No income, in a year or two they will be off to school or moving to a place that does not accept dogs.
Then, the dog ends up in a shelter and is left for rescue people to try and solve the problem.

I feel it you are old enough to already be finished school or hold a steady stable job then you will be responsible enough to own a dog!!!
I also found some problems adopting to people who rent instead of own.
First the landlord says "Yes of course you can have a dog" Then a few months later "Sorry get rid of the dog or move out".
I cant tell you the number of calls I get PER DAY about people needing to place their pitbulls. I ask "Why do you need to get rid of your dog"? "Oh I moved and I am going to a place that does not accept dogs"
People think that dogs and cats are disposable!!!
Give some thought to a 17 year commitment for goodness sakes!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE!!! If you do manage to get the $$ up to buy another dog, would you borrow, work, or whatever and make sure you get an additional 300.00 or so to take it to a vet and get him or her a check-up and all the vaccinations it needs to protect it from parvo, carona virus, distemper, rabies, etc? Parvo can so easily claim a puppy within the first couple of week especially if the puppy comes an unsuitable breeder. Then when you have achieved that, get the money to have the puppy spayed or neutered shortly after that. Also license your dog so if you loose it, you will have the chance to get it back. Thanks for listening.

mr pitbull, you say youre mature but its clear you arent. any mature person can see that if you have no income whatsoever, that you cant own a pet. if any of us knew you, we would say this to you face. also, why cant we talk about how youre going to support your dog? im not ashamed to talk about how i support my pets.

i'm more mature than all these people cuz i don't talk shit over the internet unless some jackoff wants to sit here and provolke me. and if you said that to my face i'd knock you the **** out. and it's called parents that's who's going to help me support my dog. plus when my parents moved i stayed in my state for 6 months and raised my dog by my self and guess what i had no income and i think i did a damn good job. you all think you know everything but you don't and you don't even know the situation let me make this real clear for you old ones out there who maybe can't see as well ALL I HAVE TO DO IS GET (r u still with me on this)THE MONEY TO BUY HER now was that that hard to understand? and yes i'm a minor and sorry i have a life unlike all of you old bastards who alls you have is your dog. please go get yourself something else to do besides sit on a computer and run of your mouth to people hundreds of miles away.

1. if you are that aggressive and short tempered i dont think you should own a dog.
2. maybe you should clarify that your parents will pay the money to raise it, instead of giving vague information and getting agro when we ask questions.
3. not all of us are old. im only 20. just because someone is old it doesnt mean their life long ambition is to slam 17 year olds.
4. you say that old people who only have their dogs is embarssing in some way. would you be embarassed if all you had was your dog? if you would be embarassed i find that very sad.

Mr.Pitbull5, No one on here is slamming you for being only 17 you asked a question about how you can raise cash to buy this dog,
They gave you there views on the question that if you have not got the money to buy the dog then you could not afford to keep the dog.
I am not old well i dont think 27is old i breed german shepherds and i can tell you that owning more than one dog is more expensive than just having the one.

You really should calm your attitude and as the moderators will also point out if you can not take the advice or views on the matter then please do not get abusive this will not help you at all.

People on this forums are here to ask and learn about there pets, they are also told if they can not handle the answers they get then whats the point in asking the question.

Also the language is not tolerated so please refrain from using it please.

I would also like to add i would not give anyone one of my pups if they did not have an income to support the dog and to be able to pay for vaccinations or any other health care.

Also the breeder your wanting to buy of must be a BYB as no breeder will be talked down on the price for there dogs Unless they are only into breeding to make money.

This is just my view but again calm down.

Ok. I'm not going to get into that. I know that everyone wants a dog, and its hard not to live withoutone once you've had one.

Just think though. WHat if the dog gets really sick? How are you going to cover that expense? I'm not here to bash you, just put a few ideas into your head, I'm not all that older than you. In early 20s for that!
Just think though. I know where your coming from. I wanted the $$ to buy a new horse, I had plenty to raise and support it, just needed that little extra to foot the cost of her..... You know what I did? Worked my butt off. Surely you can come up with $300 bucks in a week? Mow lawns, pet sit, assist the elderly in your area, not only will you make the $$ but put joy into thier lives as well and help them do things that they can't. I had to get $3000, still havent'gotten it. Instead I rescue. I'm with LSER, and do private rescues for ALL kinds of animals.

SUrely you'll find the means for it. But don't rely on your parents. If your in a big bind, I'm sure they'd love to help, but they also have their own lives and would like to spend that $$ on things for themselves too.

I think you have gotten very good advice on here so far. And I am only 21! Yikes! but I own my own home, I will be starting school in the fall, and I made sure I was VERY settled into my situation BEFORE I got my dog. My boyfriend and I even have a contract written about Harley stating joint custody of her should we split up. Now, that being said, no one on here is bashing you because of your age, if anything, you are making yourself look bad because you get so hot headed everytime someone tries to offer you advice that you don't want to hear. We are all trying to be as responsible pet owners as we can be, and I know I feel that part of that "duty" is to help people who may not have it "all together". YOu already have one dog, what would you like another one for? More companionship? Since you will have to be working more, you will be seeing less of your dogs, and since your dogs shouldn't be left alone toghether, you will have to start crating them when you leave (if you don't already). That means even more time training your dog to get used to the crates so they don't get Seperation Anxiety from it when you leave them. Why didn't you move with your parents when they left? Are you planning on moving in with them once you get your new dog? Or are they just going to send you money? I know my dog is spoiled, and we spend probably a good 80-90 dollars a month on her food plus new toys every week. I know I can't afford to get a second dog, and I have 2 steady incomes in my home.
I would advise you to wait a little longer to get a second dog, not because you're 17, but because you are not ready. And with a temper like yours, I am not all that sure you could handle the pressure and stress (it can be very stressful with 2 or more dogs) that comes with it. Maybe you can volunteer or try to get a job at your local animal shelter. That would give you the opportunity to be around lots of animals, and youwouldn't have to worry about providing the extra income. Plus, its a really great experience to know that you are giving love to so many that deserve it.

good point elizavixen, there are lots of dogs that need a forever home.

if you just want a job though, you should look in the paper, or go to a temp agency, or its that time of year again you could mow yards, thats what my brother does and me makes about 3 grand every summer.
