We have been living in this rural neighborhood for almost a year now I have A beagle and a pit I got the pit about six months ago fom my sister she was about 9 mos old and always an inside dog but when she bought her new house her husband said outside only but to my family dogs are family so instead of a chain or pen I took her home the 2nd day I had her I put her a cable run in the front yard she had not been on her chain for 30 min when I heard a 22 shot I go outside and my neighbor has shot at her w rat shot so after a little confrontation I made it clear that between his 20-30 chickens ducks geese and 2 dogs that he had a lot more to lose than me since that day I will not leave her in her pen or on the cable to enjoy the outside I closed in my 12x12 back porch for her but its not the same she plays outside in the evenings and has NEVER left my yard not even when other loose dogs all over the neighborhood torment from the street His only reason for shooting at my dog and I quote I dont what that damn Pitbull around here So please help me find a way to deal with this shallow fool OH yeah what he calls chickens are actually expensive fighting cocks for sale and they spend most of their day in my yard

That's horrible! Did you call animal control, or the cops to tell them that this idiot was shooting at your dog? I would've kicked his a**! I'd call animal control & tell them what type & how many animals he has over there etc.... See if there's anything they can do.

hey facedog, gotta bb gun....jk. if it were me i'de build a privacy fence...thats what i had to do out at my parents house when they were watching my dog, it really sucked...they live on three acres, and their neighbors are about like that dipshi* redneck that shot at your dog. but for real if he shot at my dog i'de be out in my yard all day with a 410 waiting for those chickens to come in my yard

You could be nice and introduce your pitt to him, and have a nice calm chat.
Does your pit kill the chickens when they come into your yard? if so that might be why he doesnt like it.
or when his birds come into your yard you could catch them and hide them, and tell him he can have them back but if they do it again you will take them to a shelter
