I have not cropped my pups ears, but I would make sure yo are completely comfortable with the situation before you go through with this. Also, to make sure you have checked out the vet, and possibly requested to see some other dogs he has cropped. From what I read from True_Pit I think it was is that your Pit is never to old to be cropped.
So, if you need to put it off for a bit to take care of those nerves do it. There's nothing wrong with wanting to wait until you are ready. I know this may not have helped much, but thought I'd give it a try.

i hope samson doesn't eat your little man, you'll need to look out for that, they're both males right? he'll come home with one of those elzibethian(sp?) collars and some stitches just keep it clean, is he an inside dog? just keep an eye on him. my friend got his pits ears done and they healed up really quick

Remember, though there really is no age limit, it is DIFFICULT to FIND a vet who will do it at an older age. I would check around to see what the latest age they are willing to do ears, and then decide.

They both live in the house.. but they do have a super huge yard though, that they like to be in for the most part of the day .. i guess ill just have to take them potty, and bring them right back in untill spike is healed . Do you guys know about how long it takes for him to be 100% ... oh and by the way Sam had his little ballsies takin out last month ... We heard it helps with male dog agression .I guess Freedom thinks thats cruel too .. lol

Once the stitches come out, it shouldn't take more than a week or so. It's no biggy. They can still play. They don't usually 'go for the ears' while playing do they? Mine never did and I had up to 3 pups done at the same time. Didn't bother them being together with the stitches or after the stitches. You don't have anything to worry about, unless they start to fall. But very easy to fix.
