Hi Ozzy, I was just readig one of your posts and realized that you are from the UK. I found a message board the other day and there was a guy there (absolutely hideous attitude) from the UK that said all Pits and Pit mixes are banned. True? You are quite refreshing from the pompass moron that I red about. He kept going on thee the board saying all Pits should be lined up and shot, that they are all killers etc. and kept putting me and one other girl down for speaking proper english on the "net" calling us dorks. Ugh! He was so ignorant. My question is, what is the common consensus about Pits in the UK? Do most love them? or hate them like the guy I spoke to? Do you think the ban will ever be lifted? This guy said that next the Mastiff and bulldog needed to be banned because now they are the killer!! Can yo believe it, and this guy was actually trying to tel us he was a trainer and part of the KC! Anyway, just wondering what the majority attitude was over there. It was refreshing to read your posts. Leslie IP: Logged |

Hi bully love, I know this was not dericted to me, but i live in the UK, and pitts are banned, there has been no mention of the ban being lifted, we as far as i can ever remember have not had pitts here for ages and ages so most of us have no experience in the breed and would do no good to the breed by trying to own them like any other dog, this man you are talking about is just an internet troll, we or at least me dont hate the breed, just understand that they are not for just any old owner, (i would never own one due to no experience in the breed). As for mastiffs etc are not to be banned. Ky IP: Logged |

Uggg I hate people like that, He probly isnt a trainer at all, Most britts see a staff, rottie, dobie shepherd etc and say its visious (well non doggy people anyhow) Ive never met any of the visious breeds that have been nasty. Ive seen plenty of terriers (like jacks, yorkies) and collies that are vicious, some people just dont understand that each dog is totally different. Ky IP: Logged |

hi im also from the uk and i have to say there are people like that here. iv had people say to me "how can you have a staffy when you have a toddler thats so dangerous." it makes me laugh as the main reason i got a staffy is because of how great they are with kids. not every one is like that though mainly just people who havent been around these types of breeds. (sorry about the spelling) IP: Logged |

not sticking up for this guy at all but he may be reacting to the media, as it has been reported that two bull mastives attact a child here. IP: Logged |

A Bull Mastiff is in no way the same as an APBT so I do not understand why APBT would be blamed if it was a bull mastiff who attacked a child? Sorry maybe Im getting off subject here it's just that it's a prime example as to why "Pits" get the bad media hype because so often when a child or anyone gets bitten or attacked by a dog that dog somehow suddenly turns into an APBT. i dont know about england but here in south australia pits are banned, well sort of. we can own them but we cant breed them, we have to get them from interstate. the rules are: you have to be 18+ to own a pit. they have to be desexed . they have to be mussled and on a leash at all times when in public. and you have to have some sort of insurance on the dog. i myself have an amstaff and 2 english staffs i would have had a pit bull but i decided with the amstaff because there was less hassles with the breed.
