Hi all - PLEASE post far and wide, especially in the Western Iowa /
Eastern Nebraska area, but everyone.

Please see forwarded message. This girl does NOT do pit rescue.
She has been inquiring about pits at our shelter for over 3 months.
She lives 300 miles away and wanted to adopt various dogs here at our
shelter, specifically Jax (for those of you who know him), but can't
drive due to "medical reasons." This shelters requires all adoptions
in person, property checks and if there are other dogs in the house,
that the dogs meet to ensure compatibility. However, she wanted to
adopt and for us to ship the dog. She has emailed me numerous times
about various Pits.

She emailed me a couple weeks ago asking if I could help transport a
pit from Dubuque (100 miles North of me) to her because some guy
was "giving it to her." That apparently fell through, she said that
the day of shipping the guy changed his mind and gave the dog to a
friend.
She also has applied through PBRC. According to her PBRC pre-
adoption applications she is 18, lives at home, has 3- 4 other dogs
already, both male and female. I can provide more info about this
girl if you need it, just contact me.

Her name is April Franklin, she has used several different emails,
the first one I don't remember, but can get it if need be.

I wish I could email all the org's that post on PBRC and all the
shelters directly, but hopefully with this post and all the
crossposts, we'll get the word out!
I responded by saying:
Hi Jackie,
I am new here and just read the post about the "Pitbull gurl". I was
also reading her posts and thought it sounded a little weird. Is
there any violent histroy with her? Is there a way to ban her from
these kind of boards? Also, do you think she would use the dogs to
fight, or just has some obsession with owing a lot of dogs (possibly
to back yard breed?)
If she sounds to suspicious, I would cal Animal Control on her in her
area and get them to send someone out to take a look at her house and
dogs living environment. Maybe that in itself would be enough to
scare her into not applying anymore.

She IS NOT in rescue, please just try to phase her out, she has since not replied to APBT on yahoo since that post went up. Everyone needs to be aware, and I am very happy that everyone here is such responsible Pit owners and caught on to this right away, and one more thing, she can't call the police on you. For what, trying to protect animals?

Siliski runs a business online that sells the animals. Siliski is a breeder of toy Maltese dogs and owner of Hollybelle's Maltese.

Dogs were found in conditions that led to the immediate seizure. Staff say that the dogs were being housed two or three to a kennel, with kennels stacked on top of each other in fairly small rooms. Living in very unsanitary conditions and very crowded living conditions. One dog died and at least three dogs were in imminent danger of dying.''

Siliski had not been arrested or charged with a crime.

The DA's office said they will most likely hand the case over to the grand jury, which will decide whether or not to charge Siliski with animal cruelty.
