I have a question for all of you that have raised pit puppies. my two pits, white boy an mary jane, are supposed to be 7 months this month. but I feel that they are at least 2 months younger because they are too small. can anyone tell me about how big pit puppies are supposed to be at 7 months? here are my 2 babies this was in november.

i dont think anyone can tell how old a dog is by its size.
your 2 dogs may be just late developers.
did you get papers with your dogs? because it will tell you on there what their age is.

No you can't tell how old they are by their size. They can be any size when they are 7 months so its hard to say. In the pics they look like they are about 6 months if that helps. How much do they weigh anyway? I have a 15 month old who is 33lbs, but then I also have a dog who is that size at 9 months. Now she is 11 months and grown more, although I don't think she ways too much more, but has definatly gotten bigger. It depends on how big they are going to be as adults. The 11 month old will eventually outgrow my other female. How big do you expect a 7 month old puppy to be? They are Pit Bulls so they are a medium sized breed.

By what you said as far as age, these pups are around 4.5 - 5mns old in the pictures you have posted, right? Ok, then you said that you think they are 2 months younger because they are too small, so that would leave their ages at (at the most) 3 mns old in those pictures. They do look like the age they are suppose to be. In those pictures, they do look as if they are around 5 - 6 mns. Question: What type of big are you referring to, by the way? Big head, and brawny like alot of these blues or the regular standard pit bull look?

It depends on the dog. Just as children go through puberty at different ages, so do dogs. A freind of mine had a pit weighing in at 55lbs, at only 6 mos. Of course he thought is dog was going to be huge. When his dog reached full maturity at two years, the dog only weighed in at 65lbs. I also had an experience with a dog that seemed to stop growing at 8 mos at only 30lbs. He suddenly got a growth spurt at about 18 mos. He matured to a nice 55lbs. Just be patient, they are good looking dogs, Im sure they will fill in quite nicely
