i have been coming to this site on my free time and i really enjoy reading all the things that people write, but i have advice that will protect your pit or any pet. get a chip it helps me do my job, it tells me if your dog has heath problyms, and no one will try to steal your dog if they see the tag that you get from a vets office, because if someone takes your dog you can call and report it stolen when they take the dog to any pound or vets office it will be scaned and the vet will see that the dog was stolen or lost from you, trust me it will really payoff if you really care. i have had cases like that and it makes me feel really good when i can take the dog from the person that stole it and see it to its home.

If you have the money-- they do have the system that goes for about $500. Your dog is micro-chipped and you have a device that if they get stolen or run off or lsot or whatever the case may be, you can find them. You can be with in five feet of the exact location where your dog is. Great for those of you who live in a high risk location! The thing with micro-chipping is that some people steal these dogs and aren't scanned at a vet or shetler and they are never found. BUt some are found as strays.

if you get the chip, just the tags alone will keep people from taking your dog, in my office we have the system your talking about but it is far cheaper than 500$ i charge 180 that includes the visit and the tags are the same so if you have your dog chiped the person will not know which chip you have, it crazy how people work. people put ADT signs out side there house and dont have the system but it still stops thieves, b/c they dont know if the really have it
