Please help! My pitbull/lab has had extremely red eyes for the last 3 weeks. One is even starting to hang a little bit. She tries itching them, they are watering and the sun has REALLY been bothering them with her. She has a normal temp of 100.04 and is playing like normal but her eyes really look bad. Could you guys please suggest something before I make a trip to the vet? She has never had any health problems but she is just reaching a year old. Thanks so much! IP: Logged |

Conjunctivitis is definatley a possibility. I am no expert either but the whites of her eyes seem awfully yellow. I know in people that is jaundice, and usually a sign of kidney problems. I think you should probably have a vet look at her. Jenny IP: Logged |

Could also be allergies. My mothers lab gets puffy, droopy, red eyes during the hot and high pollen seasons. IP: Logged |

That could be the Lab in her/him. I have had labs since I was little. It is pretty normal for there eyes to hang alittle. But It can be allergies. Mine labs gets really bad in spring when the pollen is high. ------------------ I hear and behold God in every object.- Walt Whitman [This message has been edited by texmex83 (edited 01-15-2004).] IP: Logged |
