am moving on to another dog food, the good stuff. There are no
places around here that sell anythign except the grocery stores and
the florist. The florist has Blue Seal brand foods only. I am just
wondering-- Has anyone tried these blue seal foods??

There are two kinds that they said would be best for my dogs. This is
all the infor I could get from them.

Blue Seal's Natural 26

26% Protein, 12% Fat

Featured Ingredients are:
Meat and Bone meal, natural preservatives, chelatred minerals
(organic), yeast culture and Vitamin C

the other is

Blue Seal's KRUNCHIES

21% Protein, 10% Fat

Featured INgredients are:
Poultry By-Product meal, natural preservatives, chelated minerals
(organic), yeast culture and Vitamin C

I have no idea when it comes to dog foods to be completely honest
with all of you.. I know this doesn't really give a lot I can't find
the moisture levels and if there is crude fibers or anything.. So
again, if anyone can help me out here, I would really appreciate it.
I wanted to go with Canidae or Innova or Nature's Miracle but they do
not have it. I would have to drive four hours one way to get anythign
like it-

Sounds like a good feed to me. I would probably go with Blue Seal's Natural 26 if I were you. Because it has a higher fat content and also the meat and bone meal. The feed I use (Diamond) is 26% protein and 18% fat. I get it at the feed store. Also tried another thats 21% P & 14% fat. I really like the Diamond products so far, the best I can get. But I really want Canidae too!!

Some people would probably have a fit over this, but, does anyone like Eukanuba? Well if so, if you have a Walmarts near you, buy Maximum Nutrition chicken/rice or lamb/rice. It is their premium food and it is equivalent to Eukanuba but probably 1/2 the price. I actually "admitted" buying this for my dogs once on a board and was shocked to find out there are many, many people who buy this for their dogs. lol. I also wean and feed puppies the same. No special foods needed. Now if you want to buy the real expensive stuff because you only have 1 or 2 dogs to feed, no big deal I suppose in spending the extra money on something really super natural and all that jazz. But me? Well, whether I have one dog or many, as long as it does good by them, I don't feel the urge to spend an arm or a leg. I have a ton of people email me asking what I do and feed my dogs and they are quite surprised when I tell them. I go through 80lbs a week during the winter months. I have to shop for the best deals without suffering on quality.

Thats funny Chickee I used to feed Maximum Nutrition. It has higher protein and such than the Diamond feed does. I don't see myself switching back though because the Max puppy food was crap. Or at least for my pups it was. I had only been using the adult food and before had always used daimond puppy food and adult feed too. Then I switched to Max and it was good food. But when I had pups to feed the puppy food really sucked, so I got the Diamond puppy food which is why I switched to the Diamond adult food again. So I'd only have to go to one place to get both puppy and adult feed.

I hear ya True_pits, but why use a puppy food anyway? There is really no need to. Most breeders I know don't even bother with puppy food. I'm curious. I've never tried Max puppy food, btw.

I feed puppy food until 12 months. The reason why is it is supposed to be better for the pups during their growth stages and more nutritious.

True Pits= I used to feed the Diamond. They looked very good and the coats were great. My nieghbors were complaining about the smell. I tried adding Kelp and just couldn't handle it anymore. I am using Eagle Pack now. Have had some great results with that also, the cost is more but the smell is gone, lol.

Personally I don’t recommend kibble at all; I feed my dog strait raw or B.A.R.F type feeding program plus supplements.

I'll put it to you this way...Picture your favorite athlete getting up in the morning and only having a bowl of cold cereal for breakfast before facing the apposing team and the big crowds! (Not Going to Happen) Worse imagine having nothing to look forward to but another bowl of cereal when he gets home, who could live, like that? But yet that’s
Exactly what some people expect there Canine athletes to do.

Yes its true today’s modern canine is light years away from its wild counter parts except for one thing!!! Its digestive system! You wouldn’t feed a cow a cheese burger would you?
Nor would you feed a Wolf toss salad and bread stick.

Our dogs eat what we put down for them, lets face it they don’t have a hole lot of choice.
However if you were to give them the choice what do you think it would be? A natural Canine Diet- or -factory processed kibble?

Having said all that, if you still choose to feed kibble, back when I didn’t know any better I used Solid-Gold dog food, in my opinion the best kibble type dog food on the market. If
You can’t find a Dist. Or a retailer near you they will ship to your door. http://www.solidgoldhealth.com/

Just my 2 cent

Deus, I do have working dogs. I understand its not natural for a dog to eat "kibble". I substitute with meat and veggis as well. Though I don't feed them Raw meat. With allthe bacteria and stuff out there today, I can't risk one of my dogs getting sick. I cook their meat, not fully but enought to kill all the bacteria.

Chicken,
Beef,
Lamb
and Fish are the best meats I've found to feed
Pork doesn't have as high of a fat and protien level, Chicken doens't either, but it does have more aminos and higher fats than the pork.

The best veggi's I've found to use are carrotts, peas, cooked corn, and potatoes.

I have a problem with the peas and carrotts with my dogs, so I mask the taste of them with their meat.
I fix them gravy as well.

They also have a self feeder that they can eat at when ever they want of the Dry Kibbles.

I do however also suppliment vitamins and minerals with NuVet Plus.
