I've noticed on some pit bull sites they have a certificate of registration for their kennel from ADBA. What is the difference b/w a registered kennel and an unregistered kennel? Is it illegal to have an for your kennel to be unregistered? If your kennel is registered, does this mean that it makes it legal to breed dogs? Just curious how everything works? IP: Logged |

Registering your kennel name with ADBA protects that name from someone else using it in the ADBA registration papers. Of course, this doesn't do much good in the UKC or the AKC. Anyone can breed and it's totally up to you whether you want to call yourself a kennel or not. This kennel thing really has grown because of the internet. You basically need to have some kind of name if you breed, so people can distinquish you from others. People who wouldn't think of calling themselves a kennel, are now....a kennel....because they had 1 litter of pups. Weird. ------------------ IP: Logged |
