I have a 10 week old APBT brindle. I have a question about bathing. I had heard that it is better to not bath them until they are atleast 6 months old.. Is that correct? seems like a long time to go without a bath...

Also, can anyone recomend any good shampoos?

Baby shampoo.... It's the best! It doesn't have all of the harsh chemicals that other shampoo/dog shampoo has. It makes them smell good & it helps condition their coat. Plus, it doesn't burn their eyes if you accidentally get it in them.

As for age...????? I gave all of mine baths at like 8 weeks. I just made sure not to get water or shampoo in their ears or faces.....

I am not sure on bathing rules as far as age is concerned. I use baby wips on them for the first 6-8 weeks(depends on smell, lol.) When I do I use Baby shampoo and am careful not to get any in the eyes.

I know this is late, but for my dogs I gave everyone their first baths at 6 wks...I just placed them in the sink with warm water and some Johnsons baby Shampoo! They all loved it except for the runt....he squeeled. I placed them all in warm towels from the dryer to dry them off and keep them warm. Granted it was Summer as well.

I've read that you can bathe as soon as 4 weeks, but I would be afraid they would get a cold or soemthing.
